K-7 vs. K-x (low-ISO detail level)
Feb 15, 2010

Comparing dpreview's low-ISO files from both cameras, I can't see where the K-7 sensor delivers more detail. Can you?

For those using Windows, I highly recommend the free (donationware) FastStone Viewer. It's a great viewer, and its image comparison capability is a lot of fun to use (well, at least it is to us pixel-peepers! ;-)). To compare up to four images, do the following:

  1. Download and install the viewer ( http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm )

  2. Browse to the folder that contains the files you wish to compare (press Enter to toggle between browser and full-screen viewer mode)

  3. Control+click to select the files for comparison

  4. Press "P" to compare them

  5. Move the images by dragging the mouse. Control+drag to move only one of the compared images (useful when comparing images of different pixel count).

Good luck!
