How important is InfoLITHIUM

I was researching batteries for the HX5V and I see that there are generic batteries available around a 1100mAH, which I think is 150 more, or more than 10%. They are generic and since they don't have InfoLITHIUM they wont have the ability to communicate with the camera. I'm curious what you guys think about the generic batteries because if it's just a gimmick, I'll just grab a few generics and never be without power :).
