Equipment, backup equipment and future equipment

So I'm on a journey to shoot more weddings. I'm at a point where I'd like some new equipment for some specialty shots but at the same time I have to think about backup equipment. Here's what I have now:

Bodies
5dmk2, 20d (no plan to upgrade until end of year)

Lens
70-200 f2.8L iS
24-70 f2.8L
Sigma 15 fish
50 f1.8

420ex flash

Most of the time I'm happy to bounce the flash off ceilings, with a stofen omnibounce. The 420ex is more than enough really. Distance is not an issue. I was thinking of getting another flash (probably a 580 so i can use 420 as slave if necessary) more as a backup in case of failure than anything else. But flashes are somewhat reliable right?

I'm also interested in getting a 100mm f2 or 85 f1.8 (leaning towards 100) so I can get shots with nice blurred out backgrounds. I'm a little afraid on how much I'll actually end up using it since I have the zoom but never try never know?

Not too interested in making too many purchases at once! Thoughts?
