HX5V Video Question

I don't know how to figure this out. Will the HX5V take photos while you are filming a video. I am ready to pre-order.. but this is sort of a deal breaker. Then again, does anyone know the quality of photos taken while filming with a panasonic. Does it look like a frame pulled out of a compressed video, or an actual photo.
