TC201 and 70-200f2.8

Hello,
found a TC201 in a gear box I had stored from years ago... Will it work on a D300/D700 with 70-200 f2.8. I understand it will not auto focus, but anyone try this combo and what were your results ? Thanks for your responses in advance. Regards, Lance
