South African safari wildlife

I've previously posted some birds and big cats from my South Africa trip to Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Reserve. Here are a few shots of various other wildlife. All taken with D300 or D300s, with the 70-200VR and the 200-400VR. All handheld (or on beanbag) from vehicle, except for the chameleon which was handheld on foot. When this is coming straight at your car--with no place to back up--its a little unnerving! By the way, this is one time that video was handy in the D300s...I took a few seconds of video of him coming at us, nothing for "publication" but it sure preserves the memory in a very immediate way!

We found this Spotted Hyena on a buffalo carcass.
