Orion Nebula - D40
Jan 28, 2010
|
Shot with D40 (unmodified) in prime focus through a Meade 12" LX200R telescope w/ f/6.3 reducer/flattener, 3 x 15sec@ISO800 and some heavy postprocessing (+1EV, sodium light pollution extraction, levels+curves adjustment), reduced to 50%.
My Canonite astro shooting friends were quite surprised it came out so nice, usually Canon DSLR's are a tad better than Nikon's with astro photo. And that makes me sort of a dark sheep of the astro photo club.
The vignetting comes from the 6.3 focal reducer
