7D RAW processing

Adobe Photoshop CS4/ACR cannot process RAW images from ther 7D. Indeed, the RAW files cannot be opened in the first place. Adobe have been less than helpful when asked when/if they'll be issuing an upgrade to allow ACR to open 7D RAW files. Does anyone know more? Does anyone know when ACR will work on 7D RAW files?
In the meantime, what's the consensus re Canon's own software for processing 7D RAW files?
