Saturation loss in pdf - help?

Hi Folks,

I'm struggling with getting my portfolio to have the correct appearance when creating a pdf of it.

I've been creating a Word document with text and images and then converting it to pdf using the printer menu. The images in the pdf are noticeably desaturated, and don't represent the quality that I've spent hours working to achieve.

I've tried starting with images in both Adobe RGB and sRGB and I get the same saturation loss. Any ideas?

BTW, I'm working with a MAC, OSX 10.4.11, Photoshop CS4, Word 2008 .... uhhh I think that covers it. I'm looking at the pdfs in both Preview and Acrobat Pro.
