Best way to dual wield?

I plan on going to a 3-day anime convention in May and I am considering taking my two Pentax SLR cameras. I would keep a 50mm 1.4a on the *ist DS and I would use a few different lenses on the K-7. My issue with this setup is carrying both and being able to use them effectively.

Does anyone have a lot of experience carrying and using two DSLRs in events and such?

Using two standard camera straps doesn't seem to work...

1. The cameras seem to be at risk of damaging each other when I walk.

2. The camera strap on the bottom is held down by the top one, so I can't bring that camera up to my face without choking myself, haha...

3. With standard straps, I could see my neck being in major pain after 3 days (probably unavoidable).

I think it would be nice having the 50mm primed and ready for portrait style photos when I desire one (not my primary focus though).
