Hello !

Several years after I bought my first DSLR and lens set, relying on dp reviews for the body choice and the forum for the lens, I am back with more photographs from Japan !

I have been shooting the country since five years, slowly improving my knowledge of my subjects. I already filled a thread ( http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1032&message=29025592 ) with my images so here is a new one to keep them coming !

Gear evolved and my current set up is 1D3, 85 1.2 II, 200 2.0, 100 2.8 IS, 24 1.4 I, 16-35 2.8 II. 1D4 is too expensive for the moment, so if you want to buy some images rights, feel free to email me

I shoot using "neutral" setting and almost do not post process, but I am very careful about light and mostly shoot in the shades, wait for a cloud if I have too, or use early morning and late afternoon light. I never use flash, except for one 2009 sumo image (I am sure you can find witch one - and it was not my own flash !).

Please note that all images are available in HD on my website, and they look better that way, so I encourage you to clic the links (and select "1920x" at the bottom of the page, you will need to do that once only). There is alos an explanation with relevant wikipedia links for each image.

I hope you enjoy my work and that it makes you want to come over here and understand this fantastic country ! Please feel free to comment and critic as it is always a great way to imrpove - and if no one says anything then I feel like posting images alone like a madman !

Happy shooting,

Alain
