Camera for Florida

The Mrs. And I, are heading to Florida for a few weeks next month ad I don’t think I’ll tote along my A900 or A700+ lenses. When I get there I plan to buy a compact digital camera of some sort. We will be touring around with other family members and generally taking in the sights and enjoying the warm weather. What would you folks recommend I get to record the trip; yet still be able to record some reasonably high quality images? My budget is between $500. and $800.US.
