Challenge #16 Topic: "The World of Macro"

This challenge will run from 4:00 p.m. GMT (noon EDT) September
20th and ends October 4th, 11:59 p.m. GMT (7:59 p.m. EDT). (Voting
begins: October 5th, 2002 12:01 a.m. GMT (October 5, 8:01 p.m.
EDT), and ends October 8, 2002 12:01 a.m. GMT (October 8th, 8:01
p.m. EDT!))
The gallery is at: http://www.pbase.com/ctfchallenge/challenge16macro

Eligible Gallery is for images taken with a Canon digital camera
during the Challenge period.
Exhibition Gallery is for images taken with any camera at any time
(ransack your existing galleries).
You may post a maximum of 3 photos in each gallery.

Those of you that have participated in CTF Challenges in the past
may have used one of the volunteers for uploading your images to
the pbase site. These folk have done a great job but have had
enough and we need to do this differently. So, JimMSP has come up
with a new way of keeping the site secure from would be hackers and
still give access to those wanting to post entries.

Step one, take a great photo(s) and size it down so it will upload
reasonably fast. Might I recommend 800X600

Two, If this is your first Challenge with us go to step three,
If you are returning , you should be receiving an email from
Jim or me giving you the new password into the Phase Gallery. You
may upload your images as before. If you have not received this
password let me know.

Three, for first timers, I can either send you the password or you
may email me the photo, with all the necessary info and I will post
it for you.

Four, enjoy the work of our fellow photographers and please vote at
the challenge’s end.

Please pay attention to the deadline and allow 24 hours for
uploading. If you do not allow 24 hours, there is no guarantee that
your entry will be included in the voting.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This part is important!

So that the gallery can be viewed by everyone, pictures should be
resized BEFORE submittal. MAXIMUM size is 800x600 pixels and 150 kb
For each picture, Please include:

Your Name
Picture Title
Camera Used
Description/Comments (optional)
Post Processing Details
Date of Picture (required for Eligible Gallery only)

  • Pictures missing any of the required info will not be eligible.

Please do not send off-topic entries. If there may be a question
as to whether or not your entry fits the topic, then please include
an explanation with the picture. The moderator and uploaders have
the final decision on whether or not to upload a picture for
consideration.
We have a very liberal rule about post processing. Basically,
anything goes. It will be up to the voters to decide how much is
too much.

The topic for Challenge #16 is “The World of Macro “

I have been playing around with my macro setup lately and would
like to see what other Canon shooters are coming up with.. To me,
macro is the range of photography where the subject in the image is
larger than life to the viewer. The most common macro shots, bugs
and flowers are great and of course it is always good to see a new
view of the tiny world that is all around us, under our feet on the
land and in water. You can use any add on lens that you might have
or just crop down to get the framing you desire. Have fun and good
luck...
