Remember that 20% of consumers don't buy on price and those are the ones responsible for 80% of the profit in retail sales. Photography is a luxury, not a need, a custom product not a commodity. Sell it, price it, deliver it as such and you'll succeed. Compete on price and you will lose.

This is very much true. Also, most photography purchase decisions are made by women, and are emotion-based purchases. You want to capitalize on that by making the sales when the level of emotion is high. That's one of the reasons why projection works so much better than websites.
