HP dv7t laptop

Is anyone using the HP dv7t laptop? I just got one with the Core i7 processor. While overall performance is good, I'm not yet satisfied with the LCD panel. Specifically, the ultra narrow vertical viewing angle seemingly makes it impossible to get equal image appearance from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen.
Has anyone seen similar issues, and what settings have you used to make the screen acceptable? Or have you made it acceptable?
Colors aren't that great either, but I don't have my screen calibration tools with me. I'm hoping that when I get to apply them that I can at least get the colors closer to being accurate. I presume they'll never be as good as my desktop with the more limited bit depth typical of laptop screens.
But the viewing angle is my biggest concern.
Thanks for any comments.
