Epson 3880 B&W question

I'm considering buying the new Epson printer, and give my HP 8750 a rest. My question is this: I print only B&W, never colors. Will the printer work with only the B&W inks installed, or do I have to install all inks? I'm afraid of destroying the color printheads with clogging since they'll never be used. Any thoughts on this?
