Open Air Studio

Dear Fellow Photographers,

I worked for some years on developing a good lighting style and ended up realizing there is nothing that beats a cloudy winter day on the northern hemisphere. The light is "invisible", what we consider "natural", modeling and we can focus on the face of our subject. Why don't we return to Irvin Penn's and other masters' day light studio concept focusing on the good people we photograph. In this case (and in most) less is more. Objection: it is easier to buy a few hundred dollars worth of lighting equipment than a place with lights like this( ). Solution: outdoor studio in shade any where. I have small series ( ) of my first attempts. No very good but an encouraging start. What do you think?
