F200exr for low light or get a DSLR already?
Dec 8, 2009

I've been shooting with a F200 lately (mostly 6M AUTO800 + DR200 to keep the shutter speed up). While its really impressive shooting at higher ISOs, I prefer a TZ7/ZS3 for most shooting. I prefer the ZS3 color, and find it has a more reliable focus, more effective IS and uses faster shutter speeds. Surprisingly it also keeps highlights intact very well (I typically shoot using -EV). Basically, I just get A LOT more keepers with the ZS3 and do very little PP. The F200 is quickly becoming my low light/indoor only camera.

So I'm wondering, am I better of served by an inexpensive DSLR such as a D40/60? I also have a F45fd to sell to off set the cost (I actually think the F45 is clearer in good light). For those with both a F200 and DSLR, what's your thoughts on both?
