Help! what would you take to South Africa?
Dec 7, 2009

OK, I am going on a once in a lifetime trip to South Africa, and am trying to balance my lens choices against my travel allowance. I hope to take mostly landscape and wildlife...opposite ends of the spectrum!

What would you choose for use on a700, and if possibly why? The choice is

sigma 10-20
Tamron 17-50/2.8
Tamron 18-250
Tamron 28-75/2.8
Tamron 35-105/2.8
Sony 70-300G
Sony 70-400G

100/2.8 macro
Tamron 180/3.5 macro
200/2.8 G HS
500 f8 reflex

I know there is a lot of overlap, which I have to resolve, anyway, and your advice may help me decide what has to go on ebay later on.

I could also take a panasonic fz28, as a second zoom body (or my KM 5D)

any ideas?
