It seems we who live in the US and send packages to Canada no longer have the option to use international parcel post or first class mail for anything over 4 pounds.

Priority Mail International is currently the cheapest using USPS-supplied Priority Mail Medium Flat-Rate Boxes: 11 7/8" x 3 3/8" x 13 5/8" or 11" x 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Maximum weight 20 pounds. These cost $24.65 in postage.

Other more expensive options include so called 3-5 day guaranteed global express which for a 1 cubic foot box would cost $91.50.

All my kids and grandkids live in Canada, and it's now cheaper to pack an extra suitcase and pay United Airlines $35.
