Who still owns an E1?
Nov 20, 2009

This was asked in another thread (England Kev) and I'm wondering who is still driving images out of this old workhorse?

I do.

Oh, and a message to Bigmike1:

I successfully shot with the E1 professionally with/against colleagues with 5D's and D200's. I liked the low light AF characteristics of the E1.

Yes, the noise in jpg out of the camera from an E1 was frightening back in '04, but software has gotten much better and now I can get quite clean shots out of it at 1600 without any noise reduction ... and it keeps all that beautiful E1 colour that was missing from many other cameras at high ISO made in that time.

As was told to you, you need to own one to even have a chance of understanding what we're all going on about. For most E1 owners (but not all) the E1 is one of those cameras that really was much better than the sum of its parts ... or the story the statistics told.
