Looking for P&S Camera Advice...
Canon PowerShot SX120 IS ... Walmart in central NJ has just marked it $199. If an optical viewfinder is not on the required feature list, I would recommend this model.
In this forum, I dared to compare its specs 1:1 with the S90 ($429). I stand by that comparison, even though there are a few things offered on the S90 that are missing here (RAW, shortcut button, control ring, etc.). Yes, it's a larger camera to hold, but in some hands that may be a feature. My 5 minutes holding an S90 had me wondering about how to hold it and the position of the shutter button.
At the time, I may have suggested that AA batteries was a plus, but I'm beginning to come around to the argument that the Rechargeable Li-ion Battery used in the S90 may be a better option; the fairly new AA rechargeables I've been using don't seem to have quite the same staying power. Convenient, though, for the less serious user.
Anyway, I believe the SX120 IS is worth adding to this list for consideration.
