LaCie 526 Sharpness issue

I've just got a new LaCie 526 delivered. Wanted to get NEC 2690 first revision but they seam to be out of stock everywhere.

The monitor is great, but I have an issue with sharpness I can't resolve. It seams to be a bit defocused. Even though I can't pin point the issue, I can't look at the monitor for more than 5 minutes. Still working on calibrating it properly, but I do not believe the calibration will solve my sharpness issue. I though it may be a bad monitor, but I remembered I saw exactly the same issue at a store when I looked at NEC 2690. I must be doing something wrong since I do not believe $1.5K monitors are designed that badly.

BTW, I have iMac sitting next to me - all good there. I've even tried to switch to a different computer - no joy.

Any word of wisdom?
