Like Dez, I sometimes use NX2 to convert to TIFF and then edit in CS4. It's tedious to do so but the results are extremely good.

NX2 does give "better" colors "out of the box". However, if you spend some time setting up ACR, including creating a calibration profile for your camera(s), the "quality" of the ACR conversion is pretty much on a par with NX2 and it doesn't take any more work. Folks have strong loyalties and opinions but after studying the two carefully, I've concluded that neither one has a compelling advantage over the over.

It's the only reason why I use NX, besides changing white balance. NX just converts correctly with little effort.

If ACR could do the same in the near future, I would have no need for NX.
