That color rendering mentioned in this topic is not something about the white balance. So you cannot neutralize it by shooting raw or anything like that.

The coating etc. used in the lens elements cause a certain way the lens sees the scene and some color 'attitude' is included in the equation of image production. Two different lenses capturing the same scene at the same time and same settings will yield different interpretations in terms of color.

So color rendering is one of the criteria that one can evaluate a lens although it can be a very subtle thing.

On the topic, I love my copy of 17-50 and colors are just great IMHO. I also like my beercan colors.
