Ever so often my D700 would fire two shots in quick succession while on single shot mode. It feels a bit weird depressing the shutter release once and getting double shots.

Anyone else experienced this?

Is this something I should worry about?

This is in the manual for pretty much all recent Nikon cameras.

It is a feature that the camera will hold focus for a second shot when in single shot AF mode so long as you keep the button depressed half way down between shots. Therefore, because the release button is sensitive, it is fairly easy to accidentally press back down just a little bit while the camera is still focused, and the camera thinks you're trying to take a second shot with the same focus... totally normal and not broken.
