I have it. It is a good lens with interesting proxiphoto possibilities. However,I find the barrel distorsion at 17mm a bit too strong. If you can, try before buying (and look at the rear LCD as the viewfinder has a tendency to compensate this distorsion).

For me, 70mm is too short for an unique lens use. When I want to reduce weight, I take the tamron 18-250 plus the macro 35 for macro and more IQ pictures. If the purpose is to avoid changing lenses, I would bring your 2-lenses kit and add a second body (why not this new KX?).
