Birds in Flight at Night with Flash and Manual Focus
Oct 2, 2009

The other night I was travelling on the Ferry between Circular Quay and Manly in Sydney and I noticed that there was a whole flock of Silver gulls following the ferry (flying alongside).

Although it was quite difficult to keep them in frame I managed to get a few sharp shots using my M135 f/3.5 and my flash on manual (1/2 power). Aperture was f/8

This one was actually with the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8

I really like this last one because it is tack sharp and I like the way the bird is looking down, but its a pity that the wing tips are out of frame. Does anyone have any ideas for this image. I am almost inclined to give it a very tight crop around just the body.

Also with the M135/3.5
