Anyone else dropped from Amazon's waiting list for the Canon S90?

Just curious... has anyone else received a cancellation email from Amazon?

I pre-ordered the Canon S90 from Amazon a few days after it was announced (Aug 25th), but they suddenly cancelled my order 3 weeks later and deleted it from my order history. Their support people could offer no reasonable explanation, but said that if I still want the camera I could get on another waiting list from one of their 3rd-party sellers.

I wish I knew why they did this, too. Are there problems between Canon and Amazon? If not, perhaps they realized how well the camera will sell when it becomes available, and can't stomach the idea of selling it at list price with free (Prime) shipping. Either way, I’m really disappointed, and once again at the end of another company's waiting list, though no longer through Amazon.
