How Pentax can solve the K-x AF point issue

This thread is based on Akeem's brilliant suggestion here:

I think the idea warrants its own thread, in hope that Pentax will notice and consider adding it in a firmware update.

To make a long story short, the K-x has a 4 digit seven-segment display in the viewfinder, which is normally used for displaying ISO sensitivity:

What Pentax should do is offer an option to use this display for AF point selection. All points can be represented by this 4 digit display, though the center column will need two segments to light up:

Superimposed display would be better, but is not possible without a hardware change (maybe in the K200D replacement). Until then the above solution can be sufficient to remove this "deal-breaker" from the table.
