canon 500D noise

canon 500D noise

the 500d is my 3 rd digital slr camera, after the 300d and the 400d. I am finding an awful amount of noise at iso 400 which I never saw in any of the previous cameras. mind you the images are very very usable but still I have never seen such noise from the previous cameras.
