Monitor Calibration

Hi,
I do not know much about monitor calibration but I need to calibrate my new monitors. I use 2 Samsung Sync Master 2443 BW on my mac pro.
Got any suggestion on what to get for the calibration? Would the Spyder 3 Pro do the job? What are the avantages of getting the Spyder 3 Elite or more?
Other brands that make this kind of tool?
