Which was your first reason for buying a Canon DSRL?

I though it would be interesting to ask to the forums why was the reason of buying your first DSLR into this system. It is not a matter of saying which cameras are better than others, but which are the reasons people buy their products.

So... why did you buy a Canon in the first place? Did you own a SLR before you entered this system? Which one? Why did you switch?
