Canon deletes Super-Fine from G11 & SX20 ?

Can someone explain to me why Canon would eliminate Super-fine from these new releases?

What really makes no sense to me is why would they increase the MP to 12.1 on the SX20 using the exact same sensor as the SX10 and then do away with Super-Fine.

What did they do ? Take a poll and Fine won ! I personally can physically see a difference in IQ between Super-Fine & Fine taking back to back shots at the same subject scene.

Still learning & asking dumb questions !
