Canon Rebel DSLRs (xti, xsi, t1i) and lenses

I've got an "ol' fashioned' SLR Rebel 2000 EOS with a 28-80mm and a 100-300mm lens (don't know what I did with the little basic lens it came with...) Needless to say I haven't used a film camera in a long time. Even though I like my little Canon Elph digital, I think it is time for me to go D-SLR. I am looking at the XTi, XSi and the T1i(aka 500D) and am wondering:
1. Can I use the 2 lenses that I have on all of these 3 Rebel DSLRs?

2. Should I bother with the "kits" that give you an 18-55 lens or just buy an DSLR body and attach my lenses?
3. Am I acting sensibly by going Canon DSLR just because I have those lenses?
