D700: MF focus confirmation beep?

Pardon me if I've read the manual too quickly through but I can't seem to find a definite answer for this.

When focusing manually, is it possible to have my D700 make an audible focus confirmation beep when the subject is in focus? I know there's a focus confirmation dot at the bottom left of the viewfinder, but it's difficult to see while concentrating on looking through the viewfinder - especially when focusing at large apertures.

I would think this would benefit many people who focus manually.

If there is such a feature (á la Canon), does it work with an AI-S MF lens?

If there isn't such a feature, where can I send a request for a new feature for future firmware updates?
