recycle bin showing up in external drive

i have a wolverine 60gb flashpac portable drive. have twice had to send it back to have LCD repaired. both times screen went blank.

after having gotten it back this second time, i see that whenever i connect it to my PC, the recycle bin icon appears.

i called wolverine tech support and they told me that i needed to empty that recycle bin each time i connect the drive. i told them this never happened before.
anyone experience this with their ext drive?
