D700 and old Nikon lenses
Jul 26, 2009

Hello everyone,

I am a Pentax shooter, but I also have some Nikon gear, lenses and film camera, which I use a lot, especially the fantastic F3.

I am not dissadisfied with my K20D, but I d like to move FX soon, with a D700. I know already D700 is a great camera, but as I surely won't be able to afford immediately a 24-70 f2.8 or a 28-70, I was wondering how an FX camera behaves with "older" lenses (reagrding light fall-off and corners).

I've got a 18-35 AFD, a 50 f1.8 AFD, a 24 AF and an 85 f1.8 AF, plus a 28 f3.5 AI, a 200 f4 AIS a 50f2 AI and a 35 f2 AIS.

Normally I shoot wide angle, which are said to be the most critical on fx format.

How will those lenses (especially the 18-35 ant the 24) behave on a D700?

Thanks for sharing your findings and experiences.

ciao!

Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed. But I do say... no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops. Uh... depended on the breaks.
