not at all. I have it and will post a review when I get to spent a few days in the field.

I've tried it on at home w/a 100-400 IS L attached and it stay on fine, the hood does not get in the way.

I've attached the lens two ways: One by putting the supplied post on the 40D body and slippping it into the holster. No problem.

Another way I attached it was by putting a bogen q/r plate on the lens collar, attaching the q/R adapter to the holster and clicking it it. Works fine also.
