July 22 optical eclipse from Seoul Korea

I’m beginning to suspect my optometrist is in cahoots with Canon. 20 minutes into the eclipse the mirror on my 5d just falls off.

I just kept shooting without it. Worked out pretty well. The viewfinder was pitch black unless pointed at the sun. I took the camera off the tripod as I did not want the censor exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of time. Would fire off a couple frames every five minutes.

Conditions were poor. We were under a thick fog all morning w/variable clouds. I must say though, led to some interesting images. We never got close to totality... too far north I think.

All shot with Canon 5d, 200 2.8L + Canon 2x t/c
And yes, she got quite dirty.
