Back from Namibia (D3/200-400/70-200/28-70)

I just returned from 17 days in Namibia, in southwest Africa. It was winter, and we experienced a range of temperatures from the mid-30s F to the mid-70s, but it's still one of the driest countries in the world. The grass in the photos is known as "Bushmen's grass" and the roots are so shallow the wind blows it away!

On my first day, someone knocked my D3 off a table outdoors and it landed on a rock. The 28-70mm it was wearing survived, but the small (lower) LCD on the rear cracked and that incapacitated the camera. Fortunately, a friend loaned me his D3 for the rest of the trip!

Namibia is spectacular. I haven't had the time to really do anything with the shots resting happily on my Epson P5000 yet, but here are a few quick grabs:
