LX3/DLUX4 LCD Conspicuousness
Jul 3, 2009

I'm entertaining notions about buying one of these.

Much of my work is done in low light-either indoors in large public buildings (including performances), or in bars, on the street, etc.

I've never had a camera with no OVF. Even bad OVF's let you point the camera correctly.

My concern is that in using the LCD to frame an image, the camera and/or my face is going to be very conspicuous.

Yes, I know I can use an optional optical viewfinder, but then this sort of negates the spontaneity of the camera, since I can't see myself pocketing the camera with attached OVF, or quickly attaching it to use-aside from the issue of having the correct FOV at the time with the OVF in use. I'm not interested in turning the camera into an SLR size camera-I already have one of those.

How is this dealt with? Framing the image and seeing camera operating parameters without being conspicuous?
