Nikkor 135mm f/2 AIs disassembly?
Jun 21, 2009

Hi all
I have a lovely 135/2.0 AIs, one of my favorite lenses.
Recently though, probably because the focusing was very stiff and I applied more torque than usual, the focusing ring has come loose with about 1 inch left/right play. I guess it has disconnedted from the inner focusing helicoid.
I've tried sending it to Nikon for repair but they sent it back with the message "no more spare parts". I guess they wanted to change the whole focusing ring/helicoid?
So as I don't want to part with this lens, I'm now considering the possibility to disassemble it myself and find a DIY way to reconnect the focusing ring...
Am I crazy?
Do you know where I can find assembly/disassembly instructions? Needed tools?
Would you know anybody who could do the job (preferably in France or Europe) for a reasonable price, because the lens is not work a fortune?
Thanks for any help
