They have production body K-7 but w/pre-firmware

Surprised to learn that Matt Resnick and Jack Howard have a production body K-7, in their hands Now. J. Howards response to the comments after the article under "What about image quality" surprised me.

"We were using a production model of the Pentax K-7 but it was running pre-production firmware, so any hard statements about image quality, etc. including hi-resolution samples are not possible at this time. Stay tuned for updates! Jack]". BTW this is a new article, not the HDR article.

At pentaxforums I asked Unlocker a few questions via PM about the new K-7. He is testing the K-7 as well and stated he is expecting (if all goes well) version 1.0 firmware tomorrow Wednesday or Thursday. Edit: I believe this tester has the pre-production body at this point, and not the production version.
