D700 Buyers Remorse?

This week I unloaded my D300 for a D700 and I'm now wondering if I made a mistake. Don't get me wrong, this D700 is amazing but I shoot mainly birds and wildlife, I'd say 90%.

I contemplated this upgrade for awhile, aware of the DX vs FX situation. One thing that I told myself was keeping my D90 I would have a DX to use.

Due to bad weather the 700 has minimal use, but I've played around with my lenses etc and I'm starting to be concerned about missing the crop factor. My main lens is the Nikon 300mm F/4 with or wo a 1.4 TC and a Sigma 150-500mm.

My dilemma is do I keep the D700 or return it and get the D300 back? As I mentioned, if I'm not taking shooting wildlife I'm not shooting much and the D700 would get little use. I'm also getting paralysis from analysis here. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
