Zoom Lens for k2000

I've posted in here once before about my new Pentax K2000.
OK, anyway, I'd like to venture out into the distance and buy a telephoto lens. Is there a specific lens I have to buy? Are telephoto lenses "standard" like usb plugs, or do they have to fit to the camera, like cell phone chargers?
