Especially for studio shooting it should speed up AF if you change the Custom Settings Menu setting A4 to OFF instead of the default setting. OFF is the setting which will allow the AF to react the fastest and the other settings are usually only used in action settings where objects other than the main subject may get in the way and make the camera want to change focus from the main subject.
