So, it seems, Some people believe there is no hope, for small sensors. I'm speaking about sensors; of about the 1/2.33" size. I make no bones about the facts. They are more challenging.

Yet, also, I want to be very clear. A smaller sensor is absolutely required, if we expect to see future cameras with comprehensive optics, such as in the FZ28. Just for one, good example. The TZ5 and newer optics as well, for a more limited, yet more pocket-able solution.

Obviously, we need a new sensor; made perhaps from different materials. Plus, we need further developments with in-cam processing.

I suspect this will only happen, if we demand it.

Professionals talk about expensive camera quality and collect a profit. Amateurs talk about affordable camera value and collect quality pictures. Some people are neither.
