ZS3 Auto Focusing Modes for "Standard" - which one to use

I am considering myself camera savy, but I am really confused which AF modes is the best for general outdoor and for the indoor: face detection, 11-point or 1-area(High speed) or 1-area. AF Tracking is more self-explanatory, so I would now when to use that one. Sharing any experience using different ones would be helpful. Manual is quite poor, as many already mentioned.
