Has anyone else noticed and wondered about the 3800 refurbs?

It seems to me that there has been an unusually high number of EPSON 3800 refurbished units on the market lately. I wonder is this because they have such a bad reliability and large numbers have been returned to be reworked, or is EPSON just cleaning out their stock for a new printer introduction?

Having raised the question, I must say I am one of the owners of a recently purchased EPSON 3800 refurbished printer. I couldn't be happier with it. The quality and the prints it produces are fantastic. When my printer arrived, it was in a "plain brown box", but showed no signs of ever been used or handled in any manor.

So, I wonder what the real story is.
